Before: a woman with fine hair winces as a plastic brush with stiff pins snags her hair. After: another day, she brushes calmly with The Tessaline Brush, soft boar bristles and a dark wood handle.

The Tessaline Brush

Fine hair that breaks every time you brush it? Stop the pulling.

Losing hair in your brush? When you have fine hair, breakage looks like hair loss. Thinner hair takes less pull to snap, and most brushes are too stiff for it.

Breakage

Why fine hair breaks when you brush it

You dread brushing. Each time, more hair is left in the brush, and your ends snap off.

Pick one off your brush. A white bulb at the root means it fell out, which is normal. No bulb means it broke.

Breakage comes from force. A thinner strand snaps under less of it. Yet most brushes are stiff, sold “for all hair types,” and many mix in nylon pins. On fine hair, that's too much.

Fine hair needs a softer brush, and a lighter hand. Start at the ends.

What you've tried

You've changed everything but the brush

A comb, because it felt gentler. Brushing less, or not at all. A shorter cut, a ponytail, one more product.

Hair can get finer over the years, and many women first notice it around menopause.

None of this is your fault. But a finer strand snaps under less force, so the brush you use matters more.

What the research says about brushing

A 2025 University of Miami review says more flexible bristles suit fine hair, to limit breakage.

The American Academy of Dermatology says hair never needs 100 strokes a day. Brush gently, only as much as you need to style it. On wet hair, use a wide-tooth comb.

That's why we make one brush only, and it's soft.

Why soft

5 reasons to switch to our soft boar brush

1. Less pull on each strand.

A finer strand snaps under less force, so softer bristles don't break it.

2. No nylon pins.

100% boar bristle. One woman said the nylon pins of another brush felt “like sharp needles.”

3. No refills.

A serum runs out. A brush doesn't. You buy it once.

4. Soft bristles only.

Our bristles are 50% less stiff than a firm boar brush, according to our maker. One soft version, made for fine hair. We don't make a firm one for thick hair.

5. 60 days to try it.

The price

What $59 buys you

Luxury boar brushes cost $118 to over $300 (October 2026). Much of that price pays for the name on the handle, and some of the best known still mix nylon pins in with the boar. Ours is 100% boar bristle, at $59, with free shipping.

Hair vitamins and serums are a temporary fix. When the bottle is empty, you need a refill, and the next month you buy another one. You buy a brush once. No refills.

A soft brush is also a kind gift for a mother or a sister whose hair has gone fine. Take 2 brushes for $99: keep one, give the other.

The pair saves you $99, and shipping is free.

Ordinary brushes vs. The Tessaline Brush: nylon pins break thin hair; 100% soft boar hair carries your oils to the ends.

About us

Made for fine hair

We read what women with fine hair write about brushing. The same words kept coming back: it breaks, I dread brushing, my brush is full of hair. So we made one brush, soft only, for fine hair.

What we offer is a soft brush with no nylon pins, and a gentler way to use it: comb out knots first, never brush wet hair, and start at the ends. Get the oils down your hair, without breaking it in the process.

Free, fast delivery. A 60-day money-back guarantee: if it doesn't suit your hair, tell us within 60 days of delivery for a full refund. Questions? Write to us at hello@tessaline.co.

FAQ

Your questions, answered

What kind of hair is it for?

Fine or fragile hair that breaks easily. It's not for thick or tightly curly hair: soft bristles can't get through it.

Why not just use my old brush?

Most brushes are firm, or mix in nylon pins. This one is soft boar bristle only, made for fine hair.

Can I brush wet hair with it?

No. Wet hair is delicate, so use a wide-tooth comb on it. Once your hair is dry, comb out any knots, then brush. Start at the ends and work up, with a light hand, and brush only as much as you need to style it.

What if it doesn't suit my hair?

If it's too soft for you, or gives you static, tell us within 60 days of delivery for a full refund.

One brush, or two?

One brush is $59, with free shipping. Two brushes are $99, so you save $99: keep one, give one. Need 10 or more? Contact us.
